The former player was born as Hope Amelia Solo on 30 July 1981 in Richland, Washington to parents, Judy Lynn (née Shaw) and Jeffrey Solo. Her father, an Italian-American Vietnam War veteran, always motivated her through her career. Hope’s other family member includes her brother, Marcus.

She went to Richland High School where she played football from 1996 until 2000. The retired athlete stands at the height of 5 feet 9 inches (1.75 m) tall and weighs around 69 kg.
